Default Spooler SubSytem App Was Closed

I'm really sorry if there's already been an answer to this-- but I looked and
looked and none of the similar problems/solutions helped me.

I've had my brand new Dell Inspiron 1420 for about 4 days now, and I'm
having huge difficulties setting up my Epson Stylus CX5000 printer/scanner. I
downloaded the new Vista drivers from the epson website, and it shows up in
the printer box, but when I try to use it I get a message saying "Spooler
SubSystem App was Closed," and it loses all my printer information, etc. I've
tried uninstalling the drivers, rebooting and doing the whole thing over
again, but it hasn't worked at all. Any help would be appreciated!!

1. Go to Programs and Features in Control panel click Turn Windows features
on or off
2. click + sign of Print services
3. Select LPD and LPR. You should remove Internet Printing Client. restart
your PC to ensure there is no error of spooler service.
4. Add your printer driver again.

See if this fixes the issue.
