From your description I take it that you are not seeing the Windows Logo
etc, all that you are seeing is a list of scrolling past as the files load;
is this correct?

I'm not sure how you have done it unless you have been tinkering with the
configuration settings. The first thing to try is:

1/ Click the Start button
2/ In the Search box type: 'msconfig' (without the quotes)
3/ Click Ok when the UAC message appears
4/ When the configuration window opens click the Boot tab
5/ On the Boot tab look at the section marked 'Boot option'
6/ Make sure that the box marked 'No GUI Boot' box is empty. If there is a
'tick' mark inside this box just click on it to remove it and the press OK
7/ If you need to remove the 'tick' mark the next time you boot you will get
a message telling you that you have booted in troubleshooting mode. There is
a small box at the bottom left of this message to enable you to disable this
box. If you don't disable it you will get this message every time you boot
up, so disable the box before you press OK to continue.

I'm not saying this is actually the cause of the problem but it is worth
checking first to see if the No GUI Boot option is enabled. No GUI Boot
simply gets rid of the Logo etc and is used in troubleshooting to see what
drivers etc are being loaded.
