I just read the string of emails on this problem. I can't send emails and it
says there are two sitting in my outbox, however, when I click on the outbox there is nothing there. I tried the download you said to try but it states the update doesn't apply to your computer. I am no computer wiz, can you tell me how to fix it as it seems you know what you are doing. If the update said it doesn't apply, it means you already had it, probably
through installing Vista's SP1 update. Open the Outbox folder and make sure the 'current view' is set for "Show All Messages" rather than "Hide Read Messages". Delete any messages you see in the Outbox. If no improvement, delete your mail account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Brenda" wrote in message ... "Michael" wrote: Did you ever get a response to your question here? I have exactly the same problem in Vista64, and it is making Windows Mail a real nightmare to use, since I need to check Email every few minutes and then I have to click on 2 separate dialogs to continue to check mail. Sending mail anytime requires the same gymnastics. message stuck in outbox
Hi Gary,
I am hoping you can help me. I am running Vista and I tried to do a "backup" copy of my email messages today so I followed the export instructions but than I founf out that this created a problem with being able to open attachments. I kept getting the command failed to execute message. So I decided to import all of my messages back in but now all of those messages and the openable attachments are duplicated in my inbox like any other folder. Can you help me undo my original export and just get it back to normal? Thank you, Erik "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Try Microsoft's fix: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090 "Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer that is running Windows Vista" That page offers two download options.
