I have a 2003 Active Directory domain with an empty forest root called
"forest", and one domain under that (called "domain"). When I join my Vista machine to the domain, it joins fine. But when I open the "Network and Sharing Center" in Vista, it shows my domain network name as "forest", rather than "domain". There's no functional problems, and I am in the correct domain, it's just getting the name from the forest rather than the domain. I can easily change it manually, but I'd prefer to find out why and where it's getting the forest's name from. |
