VSS idle timeout. shadow copy does not work.
grrr.. disspointing, no one helped me out...
i just wanted to post back on here, for anyone else who seems to be having this problem..... turns out TUNEBIT (which i dont use,) causes problems with VSS... my problem was, i disabled admin shares... check the following yourself goto RUN, type regedit and: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\lanmanserver\parameters, and create two new DWORD values, AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks, both set to 1 pj |

VSS idle timeout. shadow copy does not work.
Do you use program, e.g. eraser or ccleaner which write null file to System32 directory? I am guessssssing that since these null files are operating pre-boot environment, Vista is not handling it well causing driver conflict + slowing down the Volume Shadow Copy which entertains the System Restore functionality, I think. Try deleting such null files and see if it solves the problem. -- peach |
