Maybe too much for one question. I have a new laptop running Home Premium 32
bit. When it goes to sleep (overnight) how do I wake it up? Keyboard or
touch pad doesn't do anything, and if I touch the power button, it restarts.
I can use the Media Direct button, but I don't want Media Direct.

Also, if it sleeps or hibernates, I lose the Bluetooth connection, and have
to reboot to get it back. I get the message (under Bluetooth
devices/hardware) "Dell Truemobile Bluetooth 355 plus EDR..... Windows has
stopped this device because it has reported problems code 43"

Any help?

Thanks, Jacee, that's a big help! Dell didn't seem to know anything about
what was causing this, and I've been very, very frustrated!

I still don't know the proper way to wake up the computer from sleep, but
since it always disconnects the bluetooth, maybe I'll just leave it plugged
in and set the power management to never sleep, or just manually shut down.
I'm so glad to know that it's a recognized problem, and that MS is working on
a fix.

Although I've been an enthusiastic computer user since about 1984, when
I bought a MacIntosh w/28k RAM, what I don't know about computers would
fill libraries. Therefore, I'd like to ask one of you experts a
question that you will probably regard as stupid. When my VISTA is in
sleep mode, do scheduled scans and/or program updates still take place
or does the computer have to be fully "awake" to perform these tasks?
I've done searches on the web trying to find an answer but without
success.

Can you go into your bios and see if there's a "Wake on Usb" option?

As for sooner1938, my guess is no scheduled scans would be done while in
sleep mode. I think sleep mode only powers the ram.
