I have setup a home network within the following components
1) Home PC - Vista Home Premium OS (workgrp X) 2) Office PC - XP Prof OS (domain Y) At home, both laptops are wirelessly connected to a router which is in turn connected to my ISPs modem. The internet works perfectly well on both PCs. However, I can't share folders between my Office PC and Home PC. Is it because, one PC is on a domain whilst the other on a workgrp? If yes, how should I setup my home network to enable sharing between both PCs? |

You're going to have a number of issues, when adding a domain member computer into a workgroup. 1) Browsing - what computer are there, as seen in My Network Places? 2) Name resolution - What is the address of any computer? 3) Access - How do I authenticate across the network? http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/have-laptop-will-travel.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...ll-travel.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
