I checked the specs on your laptop and it uses Intel® 915GM chipset.

This will take you to the license agreement screen, hit accept at the bottom
and preceed to download INFINST_AUTOL.EXE.

It will install and enumerate other devices associated with the chipset

I have a Sony Vaio VGNFS980 running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. I cannot
locate a driver for the mass storage controller. The Mass Storage
Controller and Unknown Device both show up in the Device Manager with
yellow !!!. I just cannot find a driver to work. Any help would be
