Hi
I am under VISTA home premium and have been having a problem for a few days: while trying to install or remove certain applications, the install stops and indicates that 'Windows installer service could not be accessed...'. In some software it indicates that the error code is 1601 I have tried several things after searching that problem on google, but none worked out. On microsoft's website, the only occurences of this problem was mentioned for Xp. On other wbesites, there were recommendations to run SFC but nothing was found. Or to start windows installer manually in services manager, but an error always pop up. Thanks in advance |

Most install problems are due to broken installs, failed uninstalls, and
other debris buildup. See this tutorial for instructions on how to clean up your system of this debris to allow proper install processes to occur. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/87...ram-vista.html "Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin]" wrote: Use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove corrupt configuration data: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "Sid" wrote in message ...
