Default USB Modem - Huawei E220 - Vodafone Ireland

Anyone out there having problems with this device.

I have gone through all the hoops to get the modem working on my laptop
(Advent 7201) and got it working.

However .... As always with Vista lately .... This causes problems with
other USB devices. If I have my laptop on a work and connected via
network wirelessly or through a network port everything works fine. At
home I need to use the modem and when I do everything can work from
anything from 5 minutes up to a few hours but eventually the laptop will
slowly come to a halt giving me a "USB device not recognised" notice.
The only way to get out of this is to shut the laptop down by pressing
the power button until the laptop powers down. This cannot be good.

Anyone else have this problem ... It is getting on my nerves now and
the current Vista experience is getting closer to zero in my eyes ....

On the same subject ... What speeds are other Voda IRL users getting?
