Default wireless networking

am using vista and recently i changed my wireless routers ssid as hidden. but
when i try to get to connect to the router manually by entering the router
ssid, am not able to connect into internet. pls send me guidelines regarding
this.

My guidelines are to broadcast your wireless network SSID *AND* use strong
encryption like WPA2/WPA.
