Like title says I have 2 sata burners that just wont work right in vista
64. I have tried every thing I know yet that read and write very slow.
My system is a Asus P5K-E wifi board. 4 gigs of ram and 2 sata
2 250 gig hdds. Ive tried resetting bios to stock. Heck ive searched
google for hrs trying to find an answer to this. One of the burners is a
brand new Samsung and the other is a Plextor 716a.The firmware is up to
date on both. I have changed sata ports as well.

I had a similar problem, only it was a SATA HDD and SATA dvd burner and they
didnt like each other, if found the way to get them cooperating was to
seperate them and put them on their own primary controller.
So SATADVD on one primary and SATA HDD on the other primary.
I know you say you have two SATA burners and obviously a HDD or two but some
newer MB's have more than two primary controllers.
Maybe this can help.

Thank you I am going to try and put it on the data channel vrs the boot
channel and see if that helps. Its driving me nuts. I do however think
that maybe its related to firmware. I did a firmware update prior to
installing vista 64. I was on vista 32 and it was working perfect then.
I just reinstalled since I wanted to set my raid up. I am gonna go back
a few versions in firmware just to see if it helps. I cant remember
what version it was on.
