Default vista to xp and xp to vista

I have 2 xp machines and one vista machine from my vista machine I can get
into the xp machines but can't go the other way keeps coming up with axcess
denied see administrator. when i go into the network and sharing center I
noticed that on the vista machine when i click on network discovery and also
the file sharing options they both look as if they are on but are both light
in color and you can not turn them on off or anything. I hope some one can
help. This seemed to happen after doing updates with microsoft at some
stageon the vista machine.

Hello Rob,

Do you happened to have Windows Live OneCare or another security program
installed? If you haven't already, I suggest that you walk through the steps
in this TechNet Article and see if this helps you.

Hello Rob,

How are you trying to access the Vista machine to the root of the C drive or
a shared folder?

In Network and Sharing Center in Control Panel, what are your options set
to?

Is this XP Home or XP Pro?
