Windows XP might be XP Home, XP Pro with Simple File Sharing, XP Pro with Advanced File Sharing and Guest only access, or XP Pro with non-Guest access. Windows Vista might be using Password Protected Sharing disabled, or enabled. These are important settings. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/0...indows-xp.html You also need to be aware of specific challenges in Windows Vista. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/12/windows-xp-and-vista-on-lan-together.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2006/1...-together.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
