If they provide a wizard, use it. Also configure your network adapter. Prefer to choose DHCP on the router and configure the adapter with automatic adressing. Do you detect the network under the properties of the adapter? If not, you have to add it. Axel |

Axel, I have the same experience on my Vista laptop and your suggestion doesn't work. My children are using three other XP laptops and a printer all connected wirelessly without any internet connection problems whatsoever. Looking at the various Microsoft forums I've been trawling through over the past few days in search of an answer I'd suggest this problem is being experienced by quite a few Vista users. I've tried many suggestions like removing the Norton anti-virus software and using static IP addresses all to no avail. Strange thing is that the Vista laptop can see and use the other devices on the network (printer and NAS) which suggest the wireless connection is working okay. Something in Vista is preventing access through to the Internet. If it were the router the other devices wouldn't be working. As Mike said in an earlier postin, connecting the laptop with an ethernet cable works straight away so again this suggests there's no issue with DHCP settings on the router. Would appreciate any advice you can give.
