Hi,

What display adapter is currently in use? Click start and type msinfo32,
then hit enter. In the left column, expand the components branch and click
on display. From the right column, post back with the name of the display
adapter.\

It may be the that you need a more powerful card, and this would involve
purchasing and physically installing one. It could also be possible that you
just need an appropriate driver to support the existing one.

Hi,

Ok, so you have a basic display adapter, not an addon card capable of higher
level effects. When does the error message occur? During bootup? If so,
there is something going on that is trying to alter the display settings. If
it happens when you try to start a game or other program, it means the
system does not contain the necessary specifications for it.

I have the same issue as mandii.
I am using VISTA Home Premium. Description, type and installed driver
is same as given by her. My screen saver is not working anymore, games
will not now display, texts in stored titles in Pressreader application
no longer display. I don't yet know how many other applications or
programmes may be affected.
I have a SONY VAIO Laptop (VGN-N38Z/W). It was working perfectly until
just before last weekend. I was prompted to download and install the
latest version of Adobe Flash Player. It was after doing this that I
first encountered this problem. I visited the Intel website but could
find nothing helpful.
I would greatly appreciate if anyone can tell me definitively how I can
solve this problem.

Hi,
I am having the same issue my display adapter is Mobile Intel(R) 965
Express Chipset Family, INtell Corp compatible.
Adapter RAM is 448.00 MB
The intalled Driver is igdumdx32.dll,igd10umd32.dll

The odd thing is that I have used the same screen saver since I got the
laptop a few months ago. Now the only screen saver I can use is the
ACER.
