Absolutely WRONG. The pst files do NOT reside in the Program Files folder.
They are in /User/{account name}/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/ folder.

Right click on it and go to the
Properties and then select the Compatibility tab. Click on it to clear
down all the Compatibility Mode Check Box. After doing so, click on
Apply and then press OK. Restart the computer and your problem is sorted
out.

That "procedure" will have NO EFFECT whatsoever on a corrupted pst file. Why
on earth would you think that it does?

Yes SCANPST.EXE is inbuilt application provided by Microsoft with all MS Outlook editions. If you are using MS Outlook 2007 then the path of this tool is -C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANPST.EXE
