I recently built a new computer, and installed Vista Ultimate. Now, when I
try to surf the web, the pages load really slowly, and when I go to Speedtest.net, my upload and download rates are decent, but the ping times out at 999ms! I also notice when I play online games, when the computer first connects to the server, there is a huge lag, but withing about 15 seconds it smooths out and I can play the game. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening and/or what I can do to fix it? BTW, I have updated all my drivers, so I'm reasonably certain that's not the problem. |

The second half of the equation is:
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled See if that helps.... --- Jeffrey Randow Windows Networking MVP 2001-2006 http://www.networkblog.net On Wed, 21 Nov 2007 22:01:01 -0800, Gk_azule wrote: That seems to be a little faster, but the latency is still at 999ms. Oh well, thanks anyway! |

Try a different router. USB routers never had a good rep. Even with cable I found there to be a big difference in routers. I just finished playing with 7 different Brands and models. -- caretaker |
