i access the internet via my college network. The problem is, everytime i
reboot or turn my com off, i can't seem to use services like Skype, voip programs, i can't use video conferencing, and all my download managers (like Orbit or DAP) all can't work!. i use a vista home premium, and i asked all my friends, they dont have this problem. the real mystery is that the i can eventually use those services (thus signifying that the problem is not the college network) but thats like 8-10 hours after i turned on the computer! because of this 'time period' i suspect that either my com has somekind of firewall that blocks all the 'heavy' outgoing traffic (which it eventually turns of somehow) or my setting is blocking it somewhere. again, I do not suspect the college network, since it eventually allows me to use Skype, for example. also, this problem is getting more serious (at first it was a few hours only, now 8-10 hours) ever since i updated my com (this one particular Microsoft update. i forgot whats the name). Thank you for any replies. i really appreciate any help, since you would be saving me a LOT of trouble. cheers. |
