Default Networking Issues in Vista

I am not sure if this is the right forum but I am having strange responses
from my new Lenovo T61 laptop with vista ultimate and I need help
I am not atechie but understand basics to write this post

I have plugged in comcast cable to the Ethernet port and the internet
connection is running, I have a wireless connection in the office which I am
unable to setup as I don't get to enter the keys, also I have AT&T wireless
Aircard which is wokring.

However when you view these in the network connections folder...it is empty...
eventhough it is connected. I try to refresh and the error says... "
The network connections folder was unable to retrieve the list of network
adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the network connection
service is enables and running."

I tried to search for this service couldn't find it.
I am also unable to setup my VPN connection ...it just doesn't show up.
Finally i logged a call with Lenovo expert live (paid service) with high
hopes
Lenovo expert live was trying resolve it and they also gave up after 5 hrs ...
There is a network adapter with name as eachfilt miniport whichc is attached
to WAN Miniport IP and Wan Miniport IPv6 when you try to update this it
doesn't update tehre is no such driver on teh system noe online.

I have done almost everything to scan for virus, spyware, malaware ..but all
clean
System health report . I have a Intel(R) 82566MM Gigabit Network
adapter...alldrivers are updated.

finally did a system health report and for the network drivers all it said
was A device has a configuration problem that prevents it from working
properly.
The device, Eacfilt Miniport, is reporting "tv_ConfigMgrErr39". This device
will not be available until the issue is resolved. The Plug and Play ID for
this device is 25.

Have done everything possible. This is now effecting my work..I am unable to
connect to my Lotus notes to replicate my emails.

My last option would be to downgrade vista to XP but before I do that i
wanted to check if I can get any solution here

Need help. any solutions

HI you 're in the right forum. but that's not mean you'll automatically find
your answer. I'll try to give you what I can to solve this problem.
i'll ask yo to disable the IPV6. most of time, people encounter too much
dificulties with IPV6 enable. A right click on the network icon and select
properties. go on status and select again properties on the status
windows.you'll see IPV6and IPV4 all of both enable on the system. disabled
only the IPV6 save and exit your configuration page.
now you'll use only the IPV4 protocol. I'm not on my Vista desk so, come
back home i'll search for something for you according your problem. Hope that
i 'll find something interesting .

Back up your data files before you do anything else.

I've had thinkpads where the original factory pre-load was corrupt.
Have you tried a recovery install using the recovery partition? This
is worth trying. Note that on a machine I had with this issue, the
recovery partition image was also corrupt and IBM had to send me a
retail copy of the OS (XP at the time) as I did not want to wait,
send the machine back to them, etc.

Before a destructive recovery install, you could try deleting all
devices in device manager - shut down - then reboot and see if they
get discovered and installed properly.

Default Networking Issues in Vista

Call IBM and ask them if they will either send you a RETAIL CD and a
drivers disk or if they want the machine back to fix with a tested
replacement. This is a new computer and they should deal with this
issue.

is worth trying.
