Default network error MPFP packet inbound filter

I have been trying to get my vista computer to go threw a router, in order to
networking another computer with xp. When the router is hooked up, I am not
able to get onto any webpages, though my lan connection is showing no
problems. I received an error messege that there might be a security prblem
and it said Polily provider- ? and under that it said:
Filter name: MPFP packet inbound filter
Is this a securty setting that I must change in oder for my internet
connection to get though to the router? If I didsconnect the router, my
internet connection is fine! In networking and sharing that map shows my
computer going to the network but then a big red X going to the internet.
Please advise my of any security settings that I may need to change. Both the
Dynex router manufac. and gateway say they believe it is a security setting
issue but are no help in resolving it!
