Default vista laptop won't complete Xp netsetup to see printer

a client has a wireless router connected to Xp machine
printer is connected to Xp machine (shows as shared device)

they have new vista laptop they want to allow sharing of printer and files

Laptop will access wireless router and get to Internet
both CPU assigned to same work-group

I've run network setup on Xp to create netsetup disk (allowing file and
printer sharing) but vista machine fails to complete the netsetup disk from
Xp

won't find printer via IP address or other addresses (using computer names
etc.)

whats the secret??

Default vista laptop won't complete Xp netsetup to see printer

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/l.../bb727037.aspx

In vista network and sharing
Network discovery ON
Network set to Private
File sharing ON
Public folder sharing ON (that is XP's shared docs)
Password protected OFF(unless you want to create identical accounts on both
comps requiring a password to sign in to vista from XP!)

Add that network printer from vista network and sharingAdd Network Device
and browse to the XP printer.

Read the above.
