Hello, I work at an office where we have about 10 Vista Home Basic PCs, most
of them laptops. They're all connected to each other and the internet through a wired p2p network. Things were working pretty well. Then we bought a Vista Home Premium desktop PC the other week and tried to use it as a sort of storage space for our shared files. I set up the Public folder so that everyone can access and edit the files in it from their Home Basic PCs. That went along nicely... but then came the problem. When the Vista Home Basic users tried to access the files (including an Access database), we found that the following things happen: 1. The first Home Basic PC that accesses a file can open it normally. 2. 2nd Home Basic that accesses can't open file.. the screen freezes, and task manager is needed to fix it. 3. But the Home Premium PC can access the files perfectly even when there's another access (which makes sense because it doesn't need to use the network to access them). Does anyone know how this problem can be fixed? I've tried disabling autotuning, anti-virus software and stuff, but those didn't work and I am getting desperate. |
