I agree.
What I find troubling is having to support Vista and there is nothing
available that says "This is what you have with this version and this is what
you have with that version". I mean, what if I got a service call from a
customer that said "I don't have this ability" and I show up and sit there
like a monkey for a couple hours trying to figure it out? I look on the web
and I find nothing; I search microsoft and find nothing; then I tel the
customer that it must be a Vista version issue and slap them a 200.00 bill
for doing nothing.

Microsoft had their heads in their A$$ when they made Vista and the people
in charge should go in the field servicing it for a while to get a real idea
of how troubling it is to have 4 different versions.

I am an IT guy and I have had it with Vista. I am frustrated every single
day with this crap.

I think it may be a difference in the versions. I have a rating of 3.5
on my desktop and I have the same issue that started this thread. No
screensaver options. I looked at the themes available when running the
slideshow, and the only options I have there are classic and fade. I
have Vista Business on this system.

However, my laptop, (which has a rating of 3.2,) has all the cool slide
show options, and the screensaver options as well. I have Vista Home
Premium on my laptop, and HP included some additional features that come
in Vista Ultimate with it.

I am thinking that it all depends on which version of Vista you have.
Liked it better when there were only two OS flavors.

Hi there,

I had the same problem as described.

In the screensaver settings screen it said ' youre video card cannot
play themes' (or sth like that)

After lots of searching I changed the nvidia 3d settings to (I have the
dutch version so I have to translate) 'use advanced 3d display
settings'.

After doing this I can now choose themes in the screensaver settings
screen.

i forgot to add that you can change the 3d settings on the nvidia
configuration screen (right click on desktop and it should show the
nvidia configuration screen item).

Hi, I'm sorry for the thread necromancy but I'm having the same problem
of no themes available. The problem is that this wasn't previously the
case. For the past 2 years I had been using a folder full of videos as
my screensaver without problem until I got the black screen of death and
reinstalled windows. It's Vista Ultimate 64, and my video drivers are up
to date. I don't seem to be able to get my "gaming graphics" rating
above 2.4 .

Is there any registry hack for this or any other solutions to the
missing themes?

Has anyone else had the same problem as me where they could previously
access this feature and now cannot?
