Why does my network printer disappear?
I am using Windows Vista 32 on my new laptop.
I have just purchased an HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-one and successfully installed and printed from it through my home network - but only for a few days at a time! Every few days it disappears from the list in Control PanelPrinters, and also does not appear in the printer choice box in Word. I have reinstalled it by using the supplied CD and also from downloaded software from HP a number of times, but it refuses to stay. This same printer is installed on my XP Desktop without any problems whatsoever. Can anyone help please?

Why does my network printer disappear?
I had this problem too. I was able to go into my router and set a fixed IP address for the printer and that did it. -- hkancyr Ultimate 64 QX6700 Badaxe2 4Gigs Corsair 6400 8800GTX 768 6X 500Gig 2X 160Gig
