brink;538798 Wrote: Hi Jannie, You will need to create a new "Administrator" account with a username you are wanting to change the C:\Users\(username)" folder to from within your current Administrator account. See: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/93...nt-create.html Now, logoff your old Administrator account and logon to the newly created Administrator account. From within this account, delete your old Administrator account. See: NOTE: When you get to frame 6 in this tutorial below, you will have the option of saving all of the old Administrator's personal user folders to a folder on the new Administrator accounts desktop. You can then just copy them into the new user folders. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/93...nt-delete.html Hope this helps, Shawn Hi, I want to thank you so much to Brink for the advice I found in this thread (and Jannie for asking the question). I had a similar problem - had an ex-display PC from Staples who didn't wipe info off before giving it to me. So even though I changed the name everywhere I could find it was still coming up with Documents:Staples:etc. I took the PC back to Staples who had it for hours & told me the only way to solve it was to do full system recovery. I did a Google search just before starting & found this forum. I saved the few docs I'd created to CD, created new admin user, deleted old one & problem solved. Thank you so much for making it easy. Now I'll have time for the Christmas shopping! -- Cymraes |

Jannie;538905 Wrote: Well.....I made a new Admin account and deleted the old one (saving files). I did a search for "Ccity" and nothing's changed. All the documents, music, etc., is still under "Ccity" (after reboot). Also, I now have to go in and change all my settings. Perhaps I did something wrong? Maybe I'm just tired and should take this all up again tomorrow? *banging my head against the wall* Jannie, Restart the computer to see if it will remove the "Ccity" since you deleted that account. I assume that you did not name the new Administrator account with that.
