I have a program that's supposed to start when I boot into Windows (Vista
Home Premium, SP2). However, I get a message that says it's blocked -
so, I have to go in and unblock it manually. Is there any way I can set
it so it unblocks (or doesn't block at all) by itself?

Use the Task Scheduler to start the program at Startup.

I tried this and received an error message which read: "The task image
is corrupt or has been tampered with. GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA."

I Googled this message and didn't get much in return. What now?

It looks like you mistakenly edited an existing task (Google Updater) instead of creating
a new task.
What is the program you want to run at start-up?
