Ok, I tried downloading from that link but I can't burn the ISO. Every
Burning program I've tried comes up with a "Burn Failed" error. Says it can't write the lead out or some such. What gives? I've got a partially finished install that just goes to a blank screen when I try and reboot to complete. I'm thinking you have to be a Connect or TechNet Subscriber to get the full file. HELP!!!!! Did you use the MD5 hash program to make sure the file is not corrupt? I am using the one from: http://www.whitsoftdev.com/md5/ Also, I read where you should use the slowest burning speed you can. Using Nero Express on a NEC 3550 DVD burner, I dropped the burn speed to 2.4x which was my lowest option. It burned without errors in about 13 minutes at that speed. I used Maxell DVD+R 4.7gb media (I don't know if that would make any difference). |

I'm Using an LG 4165 with Fuji Film 2x Max DVD-RW. Still no luck. Any
other Ideas? "stardis" wrote: "Jordan H." wrote: Ok, I tried downloading from that link but I can't burn the ISO. Every Burning program I've tried comes up with a "Burn Failed" error. I also got an error like the one described when I tried to burn at 16x. I
did slow to 4 or 8 and it burned fine. The strange thing was the DVD with the error still seemed to work. What do you mean "I try to reboot to complete"? What are you doing in reference to the normal install? Your media is limited to 2X, I assume by your description. Do you have any normal media that might be just a little faster? I suppose what media will work with your drive depends on the drive and the firmware it is using. That looks like a 16x drive, so you might try a faster media and just keep the burn speeds down. I don't know if being a -RW would cause problems, but if you can't get it to work, you might try a +R. Clark "Jordan H." wrote in message ... I'm Using an LG 4165 with Fuji Film 2x Max DVD-RW. I have now burned 4 different downloads at 16x and they have
all worked correctly without any problems. I burned them in XP Pro. I have burned build 5728 and 5744, both x86 and x64, this way using Nero Express 6 and selecting "Disc Image or Saved Project" and then selecting the downloaded .ISO file with verification selected. Builds 5728 x86 and x64 were clean installs and both were updated with build 5744. Clark wrote: I also got an error like the one described when I tried to burn at 16x. That was the correct link. It looks like Microsoft has
taken RC2 for CPP off line at that link. John Czahor wrote: I tried to DL Vista RC2 from this link but all it took me to was the Vista home page. Is there another link to try?
