Default major disconnect issue

first the first time i install windows vista home basic, this operation
system has never give me a stable interenet. i tried to turn down the power
manager thing, call AT7T(which is the interenet im using) looking for
solution online, install any possible update as i could but still i can't
solve this problem. the disconnect issue is extremly annoying. i always have
my msn on, it's keep dropping then reconnect, but the funny thing is, the
network icon has never showing it's disconnected from the network and the
interenet is working perfectly fine. someone please help! im suffering from
this for more than a month.

I do see Vista has some issues with 2wire modem. If you have installed
latest driver, you may try to disable the IPv6 as below post.

Default major disconnect issue

Other options are installing Microsoft update and using static IP address.
Please post back with the result.
