hello,
1) (detail) When I go in helpabout in Windows explorer it gives me the
version of Vista I use.No version # ?
2) (worse) Quite since the begining I get the warning telling that quick
search has stopped working, looking for a solution on line and then nothing
happens, this will go on next time I start my computer. I would like to get
at least a warning saying the reason, looking for a solution and how to stop
this warning.
But for me no answer = I don't care your problem.
3) How can I see the real address of a folder ? Vista works like taking all
the control.
When there are no problems OK why not. But when there is a problem I have no
way to trace where my file is gone. With real names you know where you files
are.
4) I have no control on the left file tree part of the window. It moves
quite randomly. Vista decides What You Have To See And Not What You Want To
See (WYHTSANWYWTS) (I give Microsoft full permission to use this abbreviation
freely).

On french forum I say : "apart the post-it and spider solitaire it is worse
than XP"
Security: After the 3 month of norton trial I had Adware-gen found by avast
the last day of norton AND THEN Spybot found Cram Toolbar, 2 times
Kuasio.KA, TagASaurus and DoubleClick !!!!
Many thanks for reading me. (waiting for a "Rescuer")
regards

Hi Papiaud,

The version number is the 6.0 (Build 6000), see:

This will show you how to get the Index started.

You can right click on the folder and click "Properties". The full
path will be shown under "Location" in the General tab.

In a Windows Explorer window, see the "How to Show the Full Path"
section for how in this tutorial.

This is the Navigation Pane. It will automatically open and move
according to what you have opened in the Window. I'm not sure what you
mean by not having any control. What are you wanting to do?

You might find this useful for helping to see what is currently opened.

Hope this helps you,

Hello brink,
Thank you for your answers.

When I write this :

"4) I have no control on the left file tree part of the window. It moves
quite randomly. Vista decides What You Have To See And Not What You Want To
See (WYHTSANWYWTS) (I give Microsoft full permission to use this
abbreviation freely)."

I mean : when I move the mouse to the left part of WinExp. i.e. the tree
part, the content of this tree part moves by itself. It is not fix. I would
like to get it fix (not moving by itself or according to the moves of the
mouse). with sliding bars to be able to choose myself which part of the tree
I want to see

Something else : I understand that Vista is a big "Machine" but to make it
working according to my will it is very difficult to find the right place
where the corresponding information is! And I have no "Ms. or Mr brink" on my
side :-)
At the begining it tried the help but I was (and am) feeling like a needle
in a haystack.
Anyway many thanks (again : like if I had a "brink" icon on my desk
regards
