Default Error Code 80070057 Vista cannot search for updates

For 2 months the same code has appeared. I have contacted Vista support but
apart from sending me Case refs and promising a reply - nothing has happened.
So it remains that I cannot obtain any updates and I am starting to feel
that my system is (a) vulnerable and (b) not running as well as it could.
Grateful for any cures.

I've been there. It doesn't seem to cover 80070057 - or is that just me being thick?

Hi,

If it's not in the FAQ's, either re-ask the question in the public newsgroup
whose address I gave or open a free update support incident using the
contact information in the upper right corner of the page.
