Default Windows Explorer crashing

I've been having this problem off and on for a few weeks and it's starting to
drive me insane!

Everytime I open a folder, Window's Explorer will crash. It's only when I
open folders on my internal drives, not my externals. Most of the time it's
when I'm opening my Documents folder or my Downloads folder.

I've been running with Windows Vista for a few months and have loved most of
the features, but if I can't access my data what do I do?

If anyone could help, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Default Windows Explorer crashing

I have a similar problem

Everytime I open a folder, Window's Explorer will crash. It's only when I
open folders on my external drives, not my internals. It occurs when ever I
attempt to explore files from a cd or from a usb drive.

I have tried a system restore and then factory restore which meant
reformating my hard drive and the problem was solved for all of one day.

Averie said it well " this is frustrating"
