Make sure the Vista Remote Desktop client is configured like this when connecting to a XP Pro Remote Desktop (RDP) host machine... http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.or...ntSettings.jpg You also need to make sure Remote Desktop is enabled on the XP Pro machine and that TCP Port 3389 is open/forwarded on any software firewall the XP box is running. See this page for general help, hints, etc for using Remote Desktop... http://theillustratednetwork.mvps.or...eshooting.html Remember is your trying to connect over the public internet you need TCP Port 3389 open/forwarded in any router or firewall the XP box is behind. Call using the public IP of the router. -- Al Jarvi (MS-MVP Windows Networking) Please post *ALL* questions and replies to the news group for the mutual benefit of all of us...
