My daughter got a laptop for Xmas, with Vista Home Premium and an Intel
X3100 gfx accelerator. On startup, just after her desktop appears, Vista produces a pop-up asking if she wants to run igfxsomething.exe. Regardless of whether she clicks ok, another pops up asking if she wants to run hkcmd.exe. There's a 3rd after this, can't remember the file name, but it's gfx card related. There's a tick box about "Always ask for this type of file", but even if she unticks it, it asks for the same 3 files every boot up. Now what's bugging me is if I look in msconfig and the startup folder, these 3 files are NOT shown anywhere as set to run at start up. Any ideas why it keeps asking and how to stop it? Cheers, and merry Christmas! |
