and cannot find any restore points. It took 5 hours last night before the
protection dialog box indicated that there were no restore points. I receive the following error in the Applications log: Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error creating the Shadow Copy Provider COM class with CLSID {65ee1dba-8ff4-4a58-ac1c-3470ee2f376a} [0x80080005]. I have tried to use: vssadmin list shadowcopy from a command line and it searches for a long time...not done yet. |

"BobDeG" wrote in message ... and cannot find any restore points. It took 5 hours last night before the protection dialog box indicated that there were no restore points. Five hours! You should have stopped the attempt after about 5 minutes. Anyway, since you have no Restore Points anyway, I would DISABLE system restore, reboot, then ENABLE it again to reset it. That should work, unless your system is really messed up. Good luck. EW |
