I just bought a new dell inspiron 1520 laptop and have a wireless connection
setup in my home, all three other computers connect to the internet fine. The laptop is finding my home network but when i try to connect an error message reads "wireless association failed due to an unknown reason". Can anybody help with this? |

please post the text output of
ipconfig /all run from a command prompt. what router (model, hardware revision, and firmware version)? do you have the latest driver for the wireless? check the Dell site. what kind of security are you using? check to make sure the router and the computer are configured with the same security. I see the same thing, hp presario 700F laptop with atheros ar5007 wireless.
Unknown result code ?? Wired ( direct to linksys wrt52g ) works just fine. Wireless, no security (public) I get this same error. All windows updates done. Any clues? I have spent hours googling and give up. right click Interfaces, select Export key. Save with a TXT
