I can't get WFS to successfully use the fax modem on my mobile phone over
Bluetooth. The modem and Bluetooth connection are working fine outside WFS
and I can successfully connect to a VPN over the internet using the mobile
phone's modem via Bluetooth.

I just can't think what could possibly be the problem. Has anyone else
tried to set up their mobile phone as a fax modem over Bluetooth?

By the way, my carrier is T-mobile. I have already called them and they
have confirmed that fax and data is enabled on my account. I'm using a
Nokia 6233 but I don't think that should be relevant because I can already
us the modem over Bluetooth to connect to the internet.

Small wonder. Fax software requires an analog fax modem over analog phone
lines. You are using neither. What did you expect?

Thanks for your ascorbic feedback but i regret to inform you that you are
utterly misguided. Fax is possible via mobile phone and in fact it works
perfectly using BVRP's fax offering. I was just wondering of there was an
MVP out there who knows how to configure the native Vista app to do the same
job.

Answer remains the same. All Microsoft Fax products require an analog fax
modem and an analog phone line. Always have.

Another question is how would vista know whether it is an analog line? does
it always wait for dial-tone?

Beyond the purview of this group. Note that the article states at least 2
third party requirements:
- a Bluetooth enabled phone
- a fax service subscription, already activated by your cellular operator

Whether those services can convert the a digital signal to an analog one
that XP fax can utilize is a question for those vendors. Repeating. No
Microsoft Fax Service can use anything but an analog line and signal.

I have used fax and scan with success with vista business, but it does seem
inconsistent, use it on my cell phone almost daily, takes about 2 min. to
send, my problem is sometimes it says "fax sent successfully to (##) and
other times in outbox it says fatal error, but in fact it does send. I end up
having to use the outbox to track my sent faxes, and sent box to track
others. as of lately, fax monitor does not come up to show progress(which is
handy). it seems to me that there is some small setting that needs a tweak or
two??. I have posted this question all over with no luck. most of all it
seems there is not a lot of use for fax and scan over cell phones. I am sure
the analog angle may have something to do with it, as my other phone, worked
flawlessly, it was not analog, but also was not using the newer networks, as
most are now. just a thought.
