Default 896mb memory..

i recently bought 2x1gb ddr2800 ram and am running vista home premium... its
only giving me 896mb physical memory. i take a stick out and still runs at
896mb... my bios says it has 2048mb total.. is there an explanation for why i
can only get 896mb physical..

Default 896mb memory..

You should run an utility like CPU-Z. It is free and you can find it by
doing a search on the internet.
It will give information about each stick of memory in your system.

Default 896mb memory..

Something you might try is going to Start type MSCONFIG and press enter
go to BOOT Then Advanced Options Make sure that Maximum Memory isn't
checked. If it is, uncheck it and reboot.

Thanks a lot, I spent hours and hours trying to find a fix for this
problem.

I could not find anywhere that had the answer until now. This quick fix
really did the job.
