I have windows vista home premium. It was updating fine until today when it
stopped working after I deleted the webcam drivers that were stopping windows from starting correctly. Now every time it connects to look for updates, it searches for ages then comes up with the message 'windows could not search for new updates. error code 80072F78' I have searched everywhere for a solution to this problem and have tried many fixes none that have worked (and most solutions have been for XP not vista). I have a windows firewall and the time/date is correct. Please help- this problem is soooooooo frustrating!!!! |

My issue was the Web Access Protection module under the Antivirus and Spyware protection in ESET Security. I changed the exclusions to allow for wuapp.exe and wuauclt.exe. Now it works fine. Check your access rules on you secvurity software. -- lisekwr |
