Default WiFi Adapter Stops working when i upgrade from 2gb to 3gb of ram

I just bought 1gb of ram to upgrade my memory from the current 2gb to 3gb,
HOWEVER, when i rebot, i lose connectivity to my wireless adapter (Netgear
wg311v3), i have tried updating the drivers , i installed the latest drivers,
i have tried relocating the adapter into a different slot, i tried
rearranging the memory sticks into different slots, ive done everything,
nothing works, if i take out the additional ram it work again.
Netgear is useless they cannot/will not address this issue.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also the error i get is Error:10 this device cannot start

Have you tried with just the new stick of ram in the machine? I am
wondering if it is a bad stick of ram. You could also try running the
memory diagnostic (just type memory diagnostic in the start menu search bar
or run %SystemRoot%\system32\MdSched.exe) with the new memory installed.
It is also possible that the wifi cards drivers are just incompatible with
that amount of memory.
A quick google has shown a couple other reports of problems with 3GB ram
and these seemed to suggest failing cards. Try Netgear again. Sometimes
getting through to someone different can help as Netgear first line support
has, in my experience, shown itself to be variable in quality (much like
Netgear products)

I did try just the new ram and it works fine, ive been reading allot of
forums myself on this matter and im getting pointed in different directions,
netgear wont take responsibility for it saying its not their prob, they blame
marvell , which is the chipset on the card, marvell wont give me any answers
as they say they dont deal directly with the public..is just all to
frustrating, and netgears only option was to give me $25 for a card i paid
$60 about a month ago, which states its vista compatible...so im just hoping
someone in microsoft might offer some advice, otherwise from what i too have
read, it is clearly an netgear issue..and i will no longer be buying netgear
products...
but thaknkyou for your suggestions.

I would try uninstalling the wireless card completely. Then make sure you
know where the drivers are on the hard drive. Restart Vista and see if it
finds new hardware--your wireless card. Let Vista try and find drivers. Most
likely it won't at which point you direct Vista to the location of the
drivers on the hard drive.

Already been down that road, many times...but thanks for the suggestion, i
have tried all the obvious approaches, looks like the adapter card just wont
work with more than 2gb of ram...

did you try uninstall from add and remove programs if it has programs to
monitor the card, also remove from device manager. then shut down remove
card. install ram, start computer verify ram ok and is reported properly in
bios and windows. if all checks out ok then shut down and put the card back
in. see if it finds it then.
