Default photo gallery showing unusual collors?

hello all,

i noticed some discoloration in the builtin Windows photo gallery while
showing an image its like its darker and almost sepia like (but still in
color).

the white comes out beige, but the same image is fine on xp, and also
fine in windows explorer (thumbnails) and the slideshow from that
folder.

i have no gamma correction program installed, the colors in my ATI
catalyst center are set to defaults and same for other settings and
brightness/contrast settings on my LCD.

its just in the gallery (ie: when you double click the image in
folder)

is there a fix for this ?

When you view an image in Windows Photo Gallery, the image may be displayed with an incorrect color cast:

When you view an image in Windows Photo Gallery on a Windows Vista-based computer, the image is yellow:

thank you for the info

the SM223BW.icm file installed for my monitor, a samsung syncmaster
216bw, seems to be the problem, i don't remember modifying it manually,
so maybe there's an error in the file.

I checked and there are no new updates on the samsung website.

so for now i'm using the wsRGB.cdmp profile, is there another profile
you suggest i should use ?

Try deleting the profiles installed from your monitor. Even using the
Generic PnP/Flat Digital monitor drivers. Had similar problems after
installing my monitors drivers. Worked for me.
