Forgive me for being ignorant but I have a drive attached to my router, 7 XP
Pro systems and 2 Vista Ultimate systems. One of the latter, which I bought, not built, refuses to connect to the networked drive. It sends: system name/user id password and the drive refuses the user id because of the extra info. I can't modify it in the dialog box and it just keeps repeating. I don't know what's different between the two Vista boxes but I'd really like the purchased system to stop being so stubborn. Thanks. |

This may seem strange, but you need to change your NTLM settings on
your Vista boxen: http://www.builderau.com.au/blogs/co...tm?p=339270746 --- Jeffrey Randow Windows Networking MVP 2001-2006 http://www.networkblog.net On Tue, 1 Jan 2008 18:11:01 -0800, Hardedge wrote: Forgive me for being ignorant but I have a drive attached to my router, 7 XP Pro systems and 2 Vista Ultimate systems. I'm sorry, Jeffrey, but what's "Samba" and how does it relate?

Samba is (probably) the software running on your router. Vista has a
known issue with authentication to Samba-based devices. The link has instructions on what you need to change on your Vista machine to access the disk. --- Jeffrey Randow Windows Networking MVP 2001-2006 http://www.networkblog.net On Wed, 2 Jan 2008 18:36:00 -0800, Hardedge wrote: I'm sorry, Jeffrey, but what's "Samba" and how does it relate?
