Background:
I have added my first Windows Vista Business to our Windows 2003 network domain. User home directories are redirected to a network share via a logon script (batch file). Note: as far as I know no group policy controlling the redirection, no roaming is being used. Issue: Whenever the user logs off the profile doesn’t get saved and the next logon appears like it’s the first time logging in to the account. For example: the folders created are userName (for the first login) the next login creates userName.001 (for the next login) and so on. Any suggestions how to resolve the issue? Is it something to do with the new account structure and I have to modify the logon script? Thanks, bjsommerville |

Robert, I have a correction to the 2nd information posted. (no ntuser.dat
file found on the new profile) userName.domainName - contains AppData folder; all of the standard desktop items (desktop, Documents, Music, etc.); ntuser.dat.LOG1; and ntuser.dat.LOG2 files only no ntuser.dat. I did try the standard user but will give it a second test with a re-boot. best regards, bjsommerville "Robert L. Robert, I have just tried the 'Standard User' account and now have a 3rd user
profile userName.domainName.000 - contains AppData folder; all of the standard desktop items (desktop, Documents, Music, etc.); ntuser.dat.LOG1; and ntuser.dat.LOG2 files only no ntuser.dat file. Next I will login as the local administrator delete the three network user accounts and then login to the domain to recreate the user account. best regards, bjsommerville "bjsommerville" wrote: Robert, I have a correction to the 2nd information posted.
