Default Loopback - Unidentified Network Problem

Hello everybody,

i am just trying to get a Samba share up and running on my MSDN Vista
Installation and i´ve got some problems getting it running.

Therefore i want to forward a few ports from my samba-server to my vista
machine with putty/plink over a loopback adapter

on my winXP machine everything works fine:

WinXP--Loopbackadapter -- static ip -- Netbios deactivated -- putty
forwarding of ports 139 and 445 -- net use share ... and mapping the drive
is no problem

No as i tried this under vista i have some strange problems.

I installed the loopback device and made the following adjustments in the
properties area:

- only ipv4 and ms networking is activated
- static ip 10.0.0.1
- subnet 255.255.255.0
- no gateway
- netbios (wins) deaktivated

- routing ports 139 and 445 to my local machine the same way as i do on my
winxp machine

My general Problem is...

Access to shares on server is not available becaus i can´t find the ip

I tried everything... but i cant find a working sollution ...

Perhaps it is a problem with the Vista Networking-Center ... there my
loopback-device or loopback network is always shown as "unidentified Network"
and the "fileshareing" options are always set to "off"

Anyone else out there with the same problem ???
