Default Annoying problem, please help.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone could help with my annoying network problem.
Iv had my new computer with vista for about 2 months now.

It is connected to my home network through a wireless router which is
downstairs.
It worked fine for a while but every now and then althou it was connected to
the network it could not connect to the internet. ( There were the two tv's
in the taskbar but no little earth sign on the tv's )

This problem is rather annoying because one hour the internet will work yet
another it wont, saying that the network is unidentified in the "network and
sharing centre"

iv looked through all the help files whihc are useless, iv made sure theres
no items in between the computer and the downstairs rounter that could
interfear, iv checked the settings and there fine because it does work
sometimes but only when it wants.

This problem is happening more and more now and the only thing ican do is
restart my computer about 5-10 times usualy until it works, which is really
not an option.

Can anyone please help with an answer or any suggestions of what this
problem might be linked with.

PS:- Theres another laptop that is not really used that can connect to the
wireless network in my home and that is using XP. It's never had a problem so
i'm thinking it could just be vista being crap and needing some good updates..

Default Annoying problem, please help.

I would check if there is a new firmware for the router or driver for the
NIC first.
