I've been trying to install Itunes but everytime
it starts to install I get:
"An error occurred while attempting to create the
directory: C:\ProgramData\Apple|Installer Cache"

After this I have to cancel the installation. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Try running the program as administrator available by right-clicking on
the file.

Can you re-download the installer it might have been corrupted during
the download.

My first post on here.. so hello..;0)

Actually I ha the same problem installing itunes on my vista - the
version 8. You may have already resolved this, but for others with
similiar problems, I thought I would share this.

I was advised vai a different forum to install using the itunes
switchless installer and it worked a treat.

To be honest I only use itunes purely for my ipod touch, generally I
think its a horrible program and full of stuff you neither want or need.


The switchless installer actually does not install bonjour and other
unnecessary stuff.

Certainly worth it..I had lots of trouble installing itunes on my
vista, and this solved it!
