Everytime I login to my account on Vista, my start bar and all the icons on
my desktop disappear. I've tried to press the start button on my keyboard but it doesn't work. When I log in, just before the bar disappears, it says something about a driver being disabled because it screws up the way the system runs. I have a feeling this could be it, but without any access to my start bar, windows explorer, or my desktop icons, I have no way of knowing for sure. Should I log into safe mode and see if I can get the start menu to work there? If not, what should I do? I really appreciate any help, in advance. This is beyond frustrating. |

Start Vista in safe mode and see if the driver is still messing up. |

) Right click icon after installing on desktop and assuring that it is a Vista style icon (Rgb, 256,PNG compressed, etc.) 2) Click GENERAL TAP 3) Select the "READ ONLY" ATTRIBUTES Box (check it) 4) Click OK 5) Wa-La! Worked for me! Program Icons never disappeared except the URL Icons. Drove me nuts for a week, almost reverted back to XP which I like because I don't have to deal with all the permissions crap! -- edutron |
