Default Internet issues

Like many others, I'm having issues with my Internet connection using Vista
and Roadrunner. I'll be in the middle of activity on a web page and suddenly
I'm disconnected. I never had this issue with XP. How can I resolve this?
It's making me nuts!
Thanks for whatever help/advice you have.

Are you using wireless? I would check if there is a new firmware for the
router or drive for the NIC.
