I'm this close to intall back WinXP, I can't deal with this problem anymore.
Everytime my PPPoE connection fails (dunno why it almost only does when I'm activly using the comp, but no matters, prolly my ISP), the computer is set-up to reconnect auto, so what it does is that it yanks me from my program or game or whatever and pop-up a reconnect timer with an offer/request for storing a log for diagnostics purposes. I don't care for the log and I will call my ISP for the many disconnects but the problem remain that Windows should do the re-connect without having to shout about it and close whatever windows I'm in and stealing the focus. Not all games support correctly the alt-tab especially when it's not user initiated and as such the games crash. So, is there a way for it to do reconnect whitout poping a window or at least without stealing the focus? |

Most PPPoE connections act like dial-up and will give you a different IP address, which will kill most gaming. It is very unusual for a PPPoE connection to fail. I would recommend to pursue these failures and never tolerate them. You may have to have a word with the ISP and you may have to check the equipment. A loose cable contact can cause this.
