I'm trying to burn dvds using the windows dvd maker in 16:9, but it keeps on
coming out in 4:3 ratio. I've got all the settings in the right place in my dvd maker and my movies are all in 16:9 widescreen. Just wondering if someone could please help me make my movies come in 16:9 ratio. Thank You for the help |

None of this works. Windows will only publish in 4:3 ( with black bars of to
make it 16:9). It's junk "John Inzer" wrote: Andy & Erica wrote: I'm trying to burn dvds using the windows dvd maker in 16:9, but it keeps on coming out in 4:3 ratio. The problem as it turns out is the JVC format. I found a program called "
sdcopy " that changes the tag to 16:9 and allows you to edit the file in windows movie maker in 16:9 format. http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?actio...c=280.0;id=153 |

Thank You for the help ![]() I have a new Dell XPS 420 and new JVC video camera and get the same problem. Only the software that came with the camera reads the files correctly. I have been told by Dell that it is to do with Vista and Codecs for file extensions not being available in Vista. In my cases the JVC .mod files as well as .wmv files and files on an unfinalized -rw dvd which are .vro give me problems whereby widescreen 16:9 video is read as 4:3 ratio. Obviously the software that comes with the camera has these codecs - whatever they are. Intead of using Windows Media Player, Dell installed "Media Player Classic" which is an old video player, but one that allows manually setting the aspect ratio and allows play of widescreen video in widescreen mode. Did Dell give you further information about whatever specific problem that they're referring to? I'd suspect that the content is misauthored... -- Speaking for myself only.
